Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized Sr. Director of Engineering to join our team for this rapidly growing business unit. The successful candidate will be experienced in the defense industry and will lead our engineering team comprised of several area managers that work in a dynamic and collaborative development environment in support of multiple research and development efforts. This high visibility leader will be working closely with internal and external customers across related programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and direct the overall product and product development engineering activities of the Department.
- Direct, Mentor, and Oversee the work of Engineering Supervisors to achieve company goals
- Coordinate the creation, development, design, and improvement of complex divisional products in conformance with established programs and objectives.
- Provide Engineering advice and assistance to other Business Development, Program Management, Production and other departments as needed
- Responsible for formulating and recommending Engineering policies and technical work assignments in accordance with project and company objectives
- Advise appropriate personnel of the latest technical and Engineering developments
- Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments and departments, as appropriate
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- Author Engineering portions of proposals
- Attend and present at Engineering, customer, and senior leadership meetings
- Additional management responsibilities as needed
- Manage technical interaction with customers to demonstrate product capabilities
- Be very independent, wearing multiple hats; be comfortable in an environment with a great deal of ambiguity

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of experience
- Radar (theory, execution, software-defined radar, and AESA Radar)
- Command & Control (current systems, integration with radar systems and operation)
- Signal Processing (understanding of DSP and applications)
- Experienced in the designing of new products or variations to existing products, develop solutions to customer needs
- Must have experience with the engineering transition from design to manufacturing
- Very strong proposal experience, particularly developing a proposal very rapidly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with radar and other RF systems in the DoD preferred.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The expected pay scale for this position is $178,413/year - $276,987/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
