Raytheon is seeking a senior electrical engineer to serve as an on-site technical support resource person as part of an effort to train a Polish industrial partner to build, test, and sustain the Identification Friend or Foe Antenna (IFFA) component for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS). The role will work as part of the Poland-based IFFA integrated product team (IPT) that is responsible for training and qualifying the Polish industry partner to produce the IFFA. This effort is part of Phase 2 of the Poland Patriot “WISLA” program, supporting both Offset and Industrial Participation aspects.
Role responsibilities will include technical assistance to the resident and flyaway Raytheon IPT Leads, Tech Lead / RF Engineer / SME, Mechanical Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer, and to corresponding personnel within Polish industrial partner. The IPT’s responsibilities include the transfer of technology and know-how to the Polish industry partner in the form of documentation, instrumentation (hardware and software), training, and other technical assistance.
Responsibilities will also include day-to-day technical aspects supporting the Polish industry partner’s production subcontract execution, participation in all local and virtual meetings and reviews, assisting local personnel with IFFA build, operation, test, analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, dealings with suppliers (especially mandated U.S. Suppliers), and participation/assistance in certain training that will be provided to the Polish industry partner. There will also be travel to local integration sites and subcontractor facilities. The goal is to enable the Polish industry partner to independently procure, manufacture, integrate, test, and sustain IFFAs for the life of the program, as well as ensure that the Polish industry partner’s IFFAs are mechanically and electrically equivalent to the U.S. version.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Integration and test of component level and system level phased array hardware
Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
Technical assistance to the resident and flyaway Raytheon and PIT-RADWAR personnel
Assisting local personnel with IFFA build, operation, test, analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, dealings with suppliers
Participation/assistance in training that provided to PIT-RADWAR by the core Raytheon IFFA personnel.
Basica Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5+ years of prior experience.
- Experience in any of the following areas: RF & Microwave System, Subsystem, Circuit, and Component Design, Analysis, & Measurement, Antenna Design, Analysis, & Measurement, Product Development
- Hands-on experience with electromagnetic/RF simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and analytical tools such as MATLAB and Excel
- Proficient in Polish and English language skills
Qualifications We Value:

- Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management
- Experience in a production environment
- Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
- Strong hands-on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
- Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
- Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance with interim clearance
