Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, is seeking a dynamic Senior Electrical Engineering (EE) Manager to drive excellence in new product introduction. In this role, you will lead and develop a team of approximately 26 electrical engineers—empowering them to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions while meeting customer expectations and program goals. Youll play a critical role in ensuring technical excellence, resource alignment, and adherence to best practices in electrical design and development.
 

As the EE Manager, youll spearhead competency growth, mentor top engineering talent, and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Value Streams, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive optimal design solutions. From overseeing design processes to supporting production and MRO efforts, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, guiding your team through all phases of product development. What You Will Do:

  • Build core competencies within the EE team
  • Coach, train, and counsel direct reports to improve performance
  • Develop and implement electrical design best practices, processes, and procedures within the standard work framework
  • Implement and support standard work processes across all programs to deliver consistent results
  • Work cooperatively with Engineering, Value Stream, Operations, and Supply Chain to achieve optimal design solutions
  • Participate in the proposal process to develop and review cost estimates and proposal packages where EE resources are required
  • Ensure individual development plans are accomplished
  • Ensure compliance with all EH&S policies and procedures, including engineering labs
  • Responsible to deliver against the cost, schedule, and technical requirements of the program as defined by the chief engineer or product team leadership in accordance with standard work. Deliverables include but not limited to, design/development, peer/design reviews, electrical analyses, validation/verification activities, and design documentation (drawings, reports)
  • Work with direct report manager to review the Electrical Discipline Health Assessment/Skills Matrix, identify skills/tools gaps/needs and develop/provide training as required
  • Support production & MRO with electrical engineering resources as required for root cause & corrective action of product failures. Provide documentation to enhance product knowledge and improve technician troubleshooting skills

Qualifications We Require:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing and developing engineering teams
  • Strong project planning and resource management skills, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines and organizational levels
  • Experience in new product development, from component-level design through integration, testing, and entry into service
  • Strong process skills and familiarity with standard work methodologies
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to manage team dynamics and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with all phases of design, development, qualification, and manufacturing processes
  • Expertise in developing and implementing technical solutions for complex engineering challenges
  • Knowledge of design practices, including: System-level performance optimization, Electromagnetic Interference & Compatibility, Bonding and grounding methods, Analog and digital circuit design and analysis, High-reliability and robust electronics, Circuit card layout
  • Applicable military, commercial, and industry standards
  • Experience in talent management, training, and development of engineering professionals
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering standard work and best practices

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
