Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities: Studies, analyzes, and seeks solutions to problems related to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, reliability, modification, or repair of aircraft and/or aircraft engines, and their components. Uses a structured, logical, and analytical approach in problem solving. Analyzes and implements regulatory maintenance requirements. Evaluates the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability and performance. Authors, designs, tests, and manages projects. Provides on-site technical support for line and base operations. Communicates with stakeholders on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations. Interfaces with internal and external organizations regarding specific aircraft, powerplant, and component issues.
- Evaluate the benefits of cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure a balance of cost, assets utilization, and reliability
- Considered a subject matter expert in their area and represents United at industry meetings
- Review OEM documentation impacting the scheduled maintenance program, including MRBR, MPD, SB, STC, ICA and implement changes as required
- Should be able to logically approach problem solving, define an aircraft maintenance program or configurations and ensure a safe and legal operation
- Responsible for working with both internal and external customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations
- Develops complex solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, and overall project management including follow-up to ensure project pilot and overall completion, which can include obtaining FAA approvals
- Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and ensure all project deliverables are met
- Provide technical assistance in reviewing Engineering paperwork from peers within engineering, as well as provide training on complex processes and outlined procedures
- Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency
NOTE: This position is based at the CSC - Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL. and considered as a hybrid work-schedule working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - B.S Degree in Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum of 3-5 years as an engineer or similar role elsewhere in the industry
- Maintenance Check Engineering Experience on Boeing/Airbus Aircraft
- Engineering skills which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engines
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance modifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and technical writing skills needed
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, 20 of the time
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.)
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS) (especially 145, 125, 91, and 121)
- Knowledge of SCEPTRE and Boeing Toolbox
