Core Responsibilities• Hardware Electronic team technical lead for a project.• Act as independent reviewer of electronic designs and supporting lifecycle documentation.• Capture, develop, and validate Hardware requirements.• Design, analyse, implement, and verify electronic circuits in accordance with defined requirements specifications, including cost and reliability targets.• Document design activities, ensuring traceability of design to requirements, whilst also ensuring adherence to relevant project, company or regulatory standards and processes.• Plan, generate, perform, and validate results of hardware verification plans and procedures.• Work collaboratively with Systems, Software, and Mechanical disciplines to ensure that hardware level requirements have been met and to overcome trade-offs or problems identified in the design.• Contribute to the development of System architectures considering alternative concepts and trade studies to determine evidence led preferred solutions.• Support System qualification activities & Hardware/Software integration activities.• Support production New Product Introduction activities & component obsolescence issues.• Assisting Project Managers in the compilation of plans, estimates, task lists and risk management plans.• Follow robust configuration control, review, and change management processes.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities• Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.• 6+ years of solid demonstrable experience in Hardware Electronic Engineering.• Proficient Hardware Electronic design competence in majority of the following:o Design of high integrity / safety critical circuitry.o Design of microcontroller-based circuitry.o Design of digital interface circuitry using SPI/I2C/CAN/MIPI/DDR.o Design of analogue signal measurement/conditioning circuitry.o Design of low voltage power supplies and power switching techniques.o Design for lightning and voltage transient protection.o Design for EMC/EMI.• Experience in leading teams of electronic engineers, motivating and coordinating their efforts to deliver compliant designs on time within hardware development lifecycle processes.• Experience of de-rating, reliability predication analysis, and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA). • Experience of electronic hardware verification including generation and executing of test procedures using standard proprietary test equipment.• Comprehensive understanding of configuration control and change management with working knowledge of configuration management systems for design development and production.• Ability to drive and manage PCB layout through sub-contract.• Awareness of embedded software to support HW/SW integration activities.• Ability to compile information and prepare reports drawing technical conclusions to make data-driven decisions and achieve high quality outcomes.• Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical colleagues not familiar with the subject matter, with the ability to clearly convey problem statements and technical solutions to senior management.• Ability to managing multiple tasks to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, to meet deadlines.
