What You Will Do
- Collaborating with the Integrated Product Team to ensure composite components meet performance standards for cost, weight, and quality.
- Leading and driving process improvement initiatives, aiming for cost savings and enhanced product quality.
- Mentoring and coaching the Composite Manufacturing Engineering Team to foster technical growth and problem-solving abilities.
- Supporting the Operations Team in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing and assembly challenges related to composite components.
- Setting up new components in SAP and ensuring the smooth introduction of new products to the shop floor.
- Defining technical specifications for tools and fixtures to ensure precise adherence to product requirements.
- Managing and resolving engineering issues by implementing Engineering Change Notices into production.
- Developing and updating Manufacturing Support Documents and conducting model, drawing, and Bill of Materials (BoM) reviews in line with project timelines.
- Promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the team.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support business objectives.
- Any other duties as required to support business needs.
Essential Criteria
A Third Level Qualification in a relevant discipline with either a:
- Master degree with at least 1 years working experience in the area of composites OR
- PhD or 3 years research in the area of composites
OR
- A Third Level qualification in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years of experience in a Composite Engineering role
OR
- HND/HNC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in a Composite Engineering role.
Desirable Criteria
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
- At least 2 years of experience in creating and optimising manufacturing procedures.
