Roles and Responsibilities
The Fan Blade Manufacturing Engineer will own Producibility and Cost of all composite Fan Blades on GE’s commercial Engines. This role will work collaboratively with CFAN, GE’s Joint Venture with Safran, where GE composite fan blades are manufactured. The role will require some travel to CFAN and other suppliers.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead producibility efforts on fan blades to improve yield and reduce non-conformances
- Lead reduction in non-conformances on metallic fan blade cladding
- Work with CFAN to implement raw material changes
- Develop concepts and project proposals to develop new technologies to improve fan blade Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Utilize lean methods to improve flow of fan blades from CFAN to GE’s engine test facility.
- Develop and implement method to predict and reduce energy usage across the composites part family
- Support GE composites suppliers on similar hardware in New Product Introductions (NPI) and problem solving activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
