Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Open Shift Engineers in Atlanta, Georgia
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with application migrations to Delta’s containerized Platform-as-a-Service offering.
- Involved with engineering, support, and thought leadership as it relates to the platform, automation, and other related activities.
- Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions, with a focus on application concerns including cloud-ready distributed application architectures, migrating workloads to containers, containerized development workflows, and integrating container platforms with automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist application teams with on boarding to the OpenShift platform, including managing resource requirements, capacity analysis, and troubleshooting support.
- Serve as a subject matter expert with the ability to explain and translate relevant details of the OpenShift platform and its constituent components to those less familiar.
- Build, test, and administer highly available RedHat OpenShift Container Platform clusters.
- Work with vendors to develop solutions, feature enhancements, and define technical infrastructure environment specific to our organization.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot the platform and issues related to integrations with other internal systems.
- Monitor hardware, VM, and container metrics for the purposes of maintaining cluster health and identifying thresholds for scaling.
- Develop and automate repeatable tasks.
- Consult with development users to determine requirements and recommend solutions.
- Assist with the configuration and maintenance of interfaces for related tool integrations.
- Perform tuning of infrastructure components.
- Review project deliverables of completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards.
- Document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action if necessary.
- Identify, clarify, and resolve project activity issues and risks, escalating as needed.
- Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new and improved guidelines as appropriate.
- Partner with architects to design and engineer solutions for internal customers.
- Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in Containerization or related.
Must have work experience in:
Planning and automating highly available OpenShift clusters lifecycle including build, upgrade, and delegation in AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud and in on-premises data centers
Automating OpenShift cluster lifecycle in AWS using CloudFormation, Lambda, and Step functions
Planning and automating Ansible Tower environment lifecycle and supporting teams on Ansible Playbook development for automating CI/CD and on-premises infrastructure lifecycle management
Developing and publishing pipeline examples for Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD for application build, test, and deployments for the developers to consume
Developing GitOps based solution to manage Kubernetes objects and Argo CD application using Git and GitLab
Developing, updating, and publishing HELM charts for deploying Kubernetes and OpenShift infrastructure resources using Argo applications
Developing custom dashboards and implementing the alerting and logging solutions for the OpenShift clusters.
