Job Summary
As a Senior PCB Designer, you will be part of the hardware engineering support group with various assignments to project teams for developing a wide variety of complex PCB design solutions. In the role of a designer you are directly involved with the design, fabrication, build and modification of designs and associated component library maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret electrical schematics and develop complex PCB designs in support of engineering with the use on in-house CAD/CAE tools while adhering to industry standards, contract requirements and contract manufacturing capabilities.
- Produce drawings and necessary manufacturing files to produce and build PCB’s/CCA’s.
- Support current development efforts and production requirements.
- Provide support with improving current processes and procedures.
- Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches.
- Perform initial and ongoing design reviews.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Project Engineers and/or project leads to develop an accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various types of internal projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates of Science degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience utilizing development tools is required. Capture CIS, Allegro PCB Editor, Allegro PCB Librarian and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Experience with current PCB manufacturing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with developing PCB’s from electrical schematic that contain high current, high-speed multilayer complex designs.
- Professional work experience in defense industry/DoD or government contracting is a plus.
- Knowledge of DC/DC switching converters and high-speed interfaces such as PCIE Gen x, Gb Ethernet, DDR3/4 memory, LVDS/HDMI/MIPI, etc. is a plus.
- Familiarity with Military and Industry standards and specifications.
