Senior Principal DevOps Engineer - Mission Systems (Onsite)
This role will focus on assisting programs in adopting best practices in DevOps, guiding teams through their automation journeys, and promoting the use of modern tools and methodologies. The focus will be adoption of Enterprise tools and implementation of modern patterns and practices. The ideal candidate will excel in developing high-quality deliverables, nurturing client relationships, and fostering team growth.
This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams (Digital Technologies, Software) to create and maintain shared codebases, encouraging team members to contribute their expertise, and facilitating knowledge sharing between departments. By championing InnerSource practices, the consultant will help foster a collaborative environment that enhances code quality, accelerates innovation, and drives overall team productivity.
Create and present solution designs, options, ideas, and innovative strategies to clients’ senior leadership teams.
Develop and conduct paired implementation of software development build, test, release and deployment pipelines using industry standard patterns and practices (CI/CD, GitOps, TDD, etc.)
Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to program team members, empowering them to grow and excel in their roles.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
