Raytheon’s Antenna and Microwave Department (AMD) in Portsmouth, RI, is seeking an Electrical Engineer capable of leading a team of electrical engineers in analog, digital, mixed signal, configurable logic or power design. The desired candidate would possess team leadership skills including cost and schedule management, plus proposal writing and presentation experience.
What You Will Do
- Lead for both development and production.
- Earned Value management.
- Work with operations and supply chain.
- Some travel to integration sites, customer and subcontractor facilities in support of the IPT and Program activities, may be required.
- Drive adherence to program plans and schedules, accurately measure and report on progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken, and ensure the delivery of contractual commitments.
- Close management of design completion while simultaneously balancing resulting performance with the ability to meet the customer’s critical schedule requirements.
- Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of hardware engineering capabilities to ensure successful technical execution.
- This 1st shift role will be 100 on-site and based in Portsmouth, RI.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior work experience or an Advanced degree and 7 years of prior work experience. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position.
- Eight (8) years of experience combined in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience working Naval Programs in the subject areas of acoustics, torpedoes, mine warfare, submarines, and/or Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs).
- Experience leading cross functional teams including but not limited to members from Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and Quality through hardware development, production, and/or test including system test.
- Experience transitioning products to production.
- Experience leading and participating in design and development activities.
- Experience working and leading both technical and cost proposals.
- Experience with earned value management and other program management skills (IMP, IMS, R&O, etc.).
- Experience implementing Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Experience presenting challenging program and technical issues to senior leadership internally and externally.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Degree in Electrical Engineering. Advanced degree in Engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience leading a design release into production.
- Experience managing diverse and complex tasks across competing priorities.
- 6 years of relevant professional experience managing and/or leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading and growing / developing teams.
- Experience working with customers to develop / negotiate SOW requirements and scope.
- Proven ability to interface with customers and lead programmatic and technical discussions to closure.
- Experience leading and participating in production and test activities.
- EV Certified or able to achieve EV certification within first year.
- PMX Level 6 Certified and able to achieve PMX Level 4 Certification within two years.
- IPDS knowledge and experience.
- Raytheon Technologies process improvement (i.e. CORE / Six Sigma Certification).
- Interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Collaborate in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.
- Experience in agile hardware development and managing using SCRUM.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
