We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is ready to dive into the design, development, integration, and verification of our embedded encryption algorithms. Your proficient in C++, Python, and embedded Linux, you’ll hit the ground running and contribute to our mission of safeguarding communications.
While knowledge of secure systems, secure software development, or crypto applications is preferred, it’s not a deal-breaker. Experience in an Agile environment is also a plus!

What YOU will do:
- Lead Software Development and Integration: Spearhead efforts on a multi-threaded embedded C++ product codebase, driving innovation at the cutting edge of technology.
- Design Embedded Solutions: Take the lead in designing and developing advanced embedded cryptographic solutions and communications products, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Drive Project Excellence: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to define requirements, implement software, and oversee test case development, verification test execution, and certification support.
- Mentor and Empower: Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow software developers, enhancing both technical proficiency and process optimization while cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Enhance Security and Reliability: Play a pivotal role in shaping products that significantly bolster the security and reliability of critical communications infrastructure.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Background in capturing and designing requirements for secure systems, focusing on functional and security validation.
- Proficiency in software development and hardware-software integration, particularly in real-time embedded systems using languages such as C++, Java, or Ada.
- Exposure to crypto algorithms and their implementation
- Experience in developing software tools for system integration and verification.
- Proven ability to create documentation and artifacts for system certification and compliance with industry standards.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
