The Analytics department at MTU Aero Engines North America works with state of the art analysis tools and methods with pride to ensure flight safety. The position offers exposure to and close collaboration with all relevant discipline experts at MTU Aero Engines AG, as well as meaningful contributions to the advancement of standard processes and tools. The candidate will perform, delegate, and review structural analysis on existing and future emerging aircraft engine component technology in Low Pressure Turbines, High Pressure Compressors, and Turbine Center Frames with conscious goals of optimization and significant reduction in fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and contrail formation.
Essential Functions Include:
- Utilize engineering applications of Strength, Fatigue, Crack Propagation, Creep, Vibration, HCF, and other topics in Materials and Solid Mechanics
- Proficiency in Abaqus, Hypermesh, python, or equivalent software packages
- Independent thinking that can further drive state of the art analysis tools and procedures
- Leadership skills to instruct, delegate, or coordinate analysis work
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field
- 7+ years of related experience
- Experience in delegation and technical review
- Advanced knowledge in 3D non-linear Finite Element Analysis and theory
- Occasional international travel may be required (1x-2x per year)
- Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
