Job Description SummaryIn the Aerospace Computing, Networking and Mission Systems team, we develop and test critical Avionics products; due to the high criticality of our applications, our engineers have a high responsibility in the development of Computing and Networking products.
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. Roles and Responsibilities
- Major Team Management: Collaborate on the teams vision and strategy definitions and execution.
- Leads and monitors team progress.
- Plan, manage and optimize teams resources. Execute the financial plan, resource development, technical and compliance sessions.
- Achieve the goals established by the business, such as OTD, FTY, budgets, growth, etc.
- Own Salary planning, Performance ratings, feedback session review individuals learning plans.
- Technical Contribution: Lead the execution and assess of Engineering Activities to meet project needs.
- Quality: Ensure that Quality of Deliverables, Quality Management Systems, Continues Improvement and General and measurement of Quality objectives are met.
- Responsible for the correct management and execution of projects/activities developed in his/her work team.
- Global interaction with cross functional teams, to be able to collaborate in areas related to his/her work and to assure the requirements of the technology/process that he/she is responsible for the implementation of compliance plan and activities.
- Collaborate with other GEIQ Avionics Managers on strategy definition, resource sharing, and workload management.
Required Qualifications
- Have a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering, Robotics or similar.
- Demonstrated relevant experience leading Electronic Design and/or Software Development teams.
- English skills: Excellent written, oral and listening comprehension abilities both in Spanish and in English. Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that will not affect getting the message through). Must have fluency and rhythm and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
- Demonstrated solid technical skills and experience in accordance with the teams scope.
- Proven experience in successfully leading Experienced/Lead Professional employees.
- Point of contact between counterparts and GEIQ
- Management of budget, Head Count, and program approvals.
- Responsible for the follow up and completion of programs.
- Experience coordinating relevant projects with higher autonomy/ownership.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills or the ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close and manage programs, projects, orders, activities or systems.
