Service Engineering Design Engineer 4 (Tech Spec II) in GAC Savannah

1. Working knowledge of aircraft structures design with practical hands-on aircraft experience in evaluating discrepant conditions and developing structural repairs. |
2. Liaison Engineering or Design Engineering experience in post-production environment or production Material Review Board (MRB) structures. |
3. The ability to use computer aided design tools such as Smart Team, CCD, CATIA V4 & V5, AutoCAD, GSBI or similar in the interrogation and design of aircraft structures. |
4. Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization's position with external and internal customers. |
5. Ability to effectively work with and support multi-disciplined team of engineers, A&P technicians, managers, customers etc. working in a Hangar / shop floor environment. |
6. Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously. |
7. Sufficient physical dexterity to climb scaffolding or support equipment to investigate and support discrepant aircraft conditions. |
Preferred skills: |
1. Gulfstream engineering experience, e.g. GIV, G450, GV, G550, G650, G500, G600, G700, G400, G800. |
2. Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals. |
3. Fundamental knowledge of composite and metal bonded structures design and repair development. |
4. Working knowledge of applicable FAA regulations and understanding of obtaining compliance with such regulations within and post-production environment. |
5. Experience with foreign airworthiness regulatory agencies. |
6. Ability to do basic static stress analysis in support of engineering dispositions and/or structural repair drawing. |
7. Working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - especially Chapter I, Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation procedures and a willingness to support other certification related activities for both FAA and foreign airworthiness authorities. |

Assignments are executed under the supervision of the Savannah Service Center Engineering Group Head to meet Engineering, Certification and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards to be employed will be consistent with company standards and accepted methods. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned. |
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Additional Functions:
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Other Requirements:
- Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
