Role Summary
Are you an established Software Engineer with solid experience of working in the aerospace industry or in an industry with equivalent safety-critical requirements? If so, read on to learn more about this new and exciting opportunity we’re now recruiting for at Parker Meggitt.
In this role you’ll work on-site in Fareham providing day to day software engineering activities to ensure delivery of engineering projects and engineering support activities to agreed performance, quality cost and schedule requirements of the customers and the business. You will assist in the continual improvement of the company software engineering processes within the Parker Meggitt Avionics Business Management System, and will provide support to the Operations, Sales and Marketing, Commercial and Finance departments within Parker Meggitt Avionics.
Core Responsibilities
- Specification, design, development and verification of airborne embedded software to DO-178C level A
- Following the company Business Management System to create data required by the European and US customers
- Ensuring the optimal application of technology, tools and engineering resources to meet product development, product support and/or customer requirements
- Demonstrating independence, being proactive, team focused and being capable of progressing under pressure to strict timescales while upholding the Parker Meggitt core competencies of safety, quality and customer focus
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in the aerospace industry or other industry with equivalent safety-critical requirements
- DO-178C (or 178B)
- SCADE, MISRA C
- Assembly language, Python
- Experience of using embedded C code
- Programming hardware device drivers at the register level
- Software V&V activities using RTRT
- Producing documentation for the full software lifecycle
- Proven track record in problem solving
- Understanding electronics design processes
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
