POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Designer position at Embraer Executive Aviation is responsible for creating design solutions inserted into an integrated product development environment for both the interior and exterior of Embraer Executive Jets. This role is central to formulating customer-centric experiences for short and medium-term design solutions, while also crafting the vision to guide the company in shaping the future of aviation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Design Development: Led the Industrial Design of an integrated product development environment for interior and exterior design solutions for Aircraft. Research, conceptualize, and develop ideas into innovative and competitive product solutions. Lead technical discussions and feasibility analysis with internal partners and vendors on all industrial design aspects.
  • Integrated Development: Act as a catalyst for integrating and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that design concepts meet the requirements and objectives of different departments, leveraging insights from product strategy, engineering, maintainability, assembly, manufacturing, operations, and certification teams.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage design projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with program schedules and overall project goals.
  • Design Process: Guarantee that our Embraer Design Process is followed and serves as the guideline for day-to-day decision-making and ongoing progress, ensuring alignment with design leadership and project objectives.
  • Technology Development Vision: Research, develop, and Illustrate real-life applications of cutting-edge technologies, ensuring Embraer maintains its position at the forefront of innovation in the industry.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that design concepts adhere to quality standards and regulations, conducting thorough reviews and evaluations to maintain the highest level of quality and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design process, implementing best practices and innovative methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design concepts, specifications, and standards, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the design team, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new ideas and technologies to push the boundaries of design excellence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives and customer expectations.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, continually enhancing skills and knowledge to remain at the forefront of the field.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Design or Aviation or Engineering-related degree

Experience:

  • 8- 10 years of Industrial Design experience – Aviation-related preferred
  • Experience in Product Development and or Transportation Design

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge in a specialty area and in all other interrelated tasks and responsibilities of the job function.
  • Role takes leadership for applying new processes and skills to improve the functions status quo.
  • Able to utilize Computer Aided Design software (CAD)
  • Customer-focused with good relationship-building skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and navigate complex projects environment
  • Knowledge of executive aircraft and the executive aviation market
  • Must possess good written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to both customers and senior management.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling and Drafting Design
  • Experience with CATIA helpful.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in several projects in a fast-paced work environment.

Working Conditions/Environment/Special Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and professionally adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Employees will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
  • Travel might be required
