Software Engineer
Manassas, VA
Contract Position
Software Engineer job in Manassas, Virginia is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will contribute to state-of-the-art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, development, and integration of cybersecurity software for the US Navy.
- Design and architect software components in Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program requirements.
- Manage a small development team, assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and conducting code reviews.
- Organize and lead an agile Scrum team with two-week sprints.
- Communicate technical and programmatic issues to management.
- Integrate COTS and GOTS tools, including open-source products and APIs, to develop multi-tier solutions.
- Participate in technical and program meetings, and research new technologies for Navy adoption.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or related field (STEM) Master’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of software development experience or a Master’s degree with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, configuration management, and writing production-quality software.
- Proficient in Java (JAVAFX), Spring, C/C++, and Python in a Linux environment (Red Hat or derivatives preferred).
- Experience leading a small software development team and working with DevOps/Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes), hypervisor-based virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.
