We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or a related Engineering field to join our Mission Software team as a Software Technical Lead. Our team develops cutting edge mission software deployed on numerous military and civilian aircraft platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a small team of software engineers, define technical approach, and drive software development throughout the program lifecycle. Youll have the chance to apply your knowledge and experience to design, create and lead development of the most groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies—those that exist today and those that will shape tomorrow.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Success Looks Like:
- Defines, manages and provides detailed work scope and tasking to other team members
- Derives detailed software requirements and approach to align with program requirements and schedule
- Provides informal mentorship to other team members
- Conducts detailed and insightful peer reviews to help team members grow in their technical execution and skill
- Collaborates with Program Management and Systems Engineering on technical approaches
- Exercises independent judgment on software architecture, methods and techniques to achieve results
- Passion for code quality and use of best practices to create innovative and dynamic solutions
- Innovative and able to provide vision into the art of the possible to support program and customer needs
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to work in System Integration Lab and aircraft environments
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Expertise in C .NET software development
- Experience leading and providing tasking to a team of software developers
- Experience defining software tasking in an AGILE development environment
- Experience decomposing system requirements into software requirements
- Strong software troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience with networking and TCP/UDP communication
- Experience with serial communication principles
- Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build
- Strong customer interaction and communication skills
- The ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Cross-Platform software development
- Experience with embedded systems and designing & developing software that interacts with hardware
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, CAN Bus
- Experience integrating with electronic circuit breakers or power distribution units
- Experience with Direct I/O and controlling electrical systems
- Experience with C ASP.NET Blazor or web development experience

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
