Staff Engineer-Fleet Management in Services Engineering
1. Oversees and develops physics-based analytical solutions to solve technical and program issues related to time on wing, unplanned outages, Shop visit workscope strategy, contract management, shop visit costs, Shop Visit/Material Forecasting.
2. Partner with the business across departments/sites/Product Line in development of analytic strategy
3. Leads/mentors global teams and other analytic communities in the development and execution of state-of-the art analytical methods
4. Influence business in advancing the methods and state-of-art related to Physics based analytics and adoption of analytics to end-customers.
5. Influence and/or develop advance LEAN process which enable creation of Analytics at scale.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long- range engineering needs.
Provide technical consultation on product problems throughout the business including supplier and field support
Lead and provide the key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact
Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs
Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company
Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced materials engineers, specialists, technicians and co-ops
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning or related field with 6+ years of experience.
At least 3 years’ experience in aircraft engines turbo machinery dynamics/ performance/mechanical design/engineering tools
In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools
Strong design creativity and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
Programming experience using Python or C/C++ or any other language.
