Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Electronics Engineer – Operations Lead to our team in Rancho Bernando, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting the MQ-4C Triton Program.
Once in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at managers discretion. This role requires the ability to travel up to 10 of the time.
This is a position within the Triton Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (MS IPT) responsible for developing, delivering, and sustaining the mission payloads on the Triton air vehicle and ground segments. The selected candidate will lead the Operations team which is responsible for the horizontal technical integration within the MS IPT across all phases of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee day to day program execution and staffing for Operations team including ensuring all issues, tasks and workload are communicated and coordinated
- Under minimal direction, collaborate with Responsible Engineers to develop system-level approaches to resolve technical issues
- Coordinate adequate MS IPT personnel support for production and operational sites
- Facilitate reachback communication between deployed Field Service Representatives and MS IPT engineering staff
- Coordinate and submit proposal estimates and standardize the estimating process for the IPT
- Develop and employ tools to analyze operational data in support of anomaly resolution and/or avoidance
- Standardize and manage critical processes performed within the IPT, such as Risk & Opportunity Management, drawing/document release, Engineering Investigations, borrow/paybacks
- Work across the IPT to document technical processes and/or work instructions as needed to standardize work across the MS IPT
- Develop process metrics and utilize trend analysis to help the IPT work more efficiently
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Additionally, the selected candidate must be a system thinker with experience in solving technical problems, have strong communication skills and be able to engage various levels of the technical team, and collaboratively turn strategies into actionable plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in planning staffing requirements and EVM techniques
- Demonstrated experience in Risk Management
- Active, in-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on Triton, RQ4, or Strike programs
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Experience on development, production, and sustainment programs
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably at an Operational or forward site
Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
