The High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Module design team is responsible for the design and operation of the HPT Module for the LM2500/LM6000/LMS100 Aeroderivative Engines. The team is made up of US individuals support the design of the HPT airfoils along with global teams supporting non-flowpath hardware. The LM2500 HPT Module Design Leader will focus on the LM2500 porduct providing leadership to the team to assess HPT component and module level durability. The HPT module leader will also advance design improvements aligned with customer requirements and upgraded engine introductions.
As the HPT Module Leader, you will play a key role in supporting and leading projects focused on improving engine durability, specifically the HPT module. You will need to implement lessons learned from other programs (including flight side), engine testing and fielded hardware experience findings into the next iteration of the component and module level design. The module leader will work with a multi-national team to develop plans and technical solutions across the turbine model.
This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office minimum of 3 days per week and the option to work from home on the other days, based on team/project schedules.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as Turbine Module Leader ensuring design of HPT Module meets key program milestones and technical performance requirements throughout the product life-cycle (Design, manufacturing and field service)
- Provide technical guidance/leadership through cross-functional teams towards the design, analysis and evaluation of the HPT turbine module and module level components using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Coordinate with adjacent engine modules to allow for proper interface and function of the engine systems, work closely with Systems engineering team.
- Develop and communicate work scope approach for HPT Module items with the support of component design, track budget and schedule of tasks and develop/implement action plans to respond to issues.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all LM2500 HPT product variants with strong focus on the HPT Airfoil Design.
- Support communication to internal leadership team and external customer when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related STEM field from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years prior relevant engineering experience, OR an Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related STEM field from an accredited university and 8+ years prior relevant engineering experience

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead programs / projects interacting within the organization vertically and horizontally. This includes documentation, planning, marketing and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor less experienced talent to achieve business deliverables within set timelines.
- Clear thinking and effective problem identification and solution skills. Personal agility and resilience. Previous experience in turbine hot section design ownership of rotating airfoils including familiarity with the use of NX-Teamcenter, FEA software and tools.
