Strategic Projects Engineer

Job Summary:

The Strategic Projects Engineer will be responsible for optimizing operational processes and systems through the application of industrial engineering principles. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and driving process improvements across multiple departments, including flight operations, technical operations, and other key areas. The Strategic Projects Engineer will support the company’s long-term strategy by implementing practical engineering solutions to enhance scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization: Identify, analyze, and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with departments to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
• Industrial Engineering: industrial engineering methods to improve resource allocation, reduce waste, and optimize the use of equipment and labor.
• Project Execution: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the company’s operational goals.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analysis to inform project direction and assess the impact of implemented solutions. Develop performance metrics to track and report on operational improvements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, IT, and Finance, to ensure alignment between engineering initiatives and overall business strategy.
• Support for Automation and System Integration: Assist in the implementation of automation and system integration efforts to improve operational scalability and efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing process improvements by identifying opportunities for innovation and implementing industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or a similar role, with a focus on operational efficiency and project execution. Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is required, with a strong preference for candidates with airline industry experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in industrial engineering tools and techniques, including process mapping, workflow analysis, and time studies. Experience with project management tools and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify inefficiencies and develop practical solutions.
• Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Direct experience in the airline industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
• Proven success in managing transportation and logistics projects with a focus on improving operational performance.
• Familiarity with automation and systems integration in aviation or logistics settings.
