Job Description:
A position as Structural Designer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space.
The successful candidate will join the Aerostructures Design area and will be integrated into structural design team, applying cutting edge technologies in composite structures and the most modern procedures for Aeronautical Design. The area is responsible of the structural design and integration of major airframe components such us: EUROMALE and Dassault Falcon 10X Empennages, and also taking care of modifications and structural sustaining of other Aerostructures projects in production and in service us the A320Neo Fan Cowls, A380 Fan Cowl and Belly Fairing metallic strcture, Falcon 7X/8X Horizontal Tail plane. The department is, as well, in charge of the preparation of technical proposals for any new offers for new Aerostructures projects for military or civil aircraft.
It is a dynamic area, apply leading digital product innovation with 3DExperience and team working with an AGILE methodology, adding value within Structural Design solutions and troubleshooting issues in production and in service.
Tasks
The main activities of a Structural Design Engineer are related with:
- Design and Validation of composites/hybrids components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while highest safety of the Product is assured
- Structural definition and architecture of Airframe components
- Components Documentation for Manufacturing and assembling Mechanical
- Planning and follow up of structural design deliverables
- Components Specification for purchasing
- Interfacing with external customers, partners and suppliers and communicating with corresponding stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and Project follow-up meetings.

Required skills
As a successful candidate, you will be able to demontrate the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Industrial (Mechanics)
- Interships or post gradute experience in Airframe or Composite structures disciplines will be valued
- Knowledge of composite structures will be valued
- Knowledge of CAD design in CATIA V5 or 3DEx will be valued
- Usual back office tools (use of MS Office is required)
- Motivated, proactive and team dynamic player
- Committed in their own development to learn new skills
- Pro-active approach to problem solving
- Good communication skills
- Agility to incorporate changes and collaborate in multidisciplinary team.
- Listening and communication skills
- English: Negotiation level
- Spanish: Negotiation level
