Job Description:

Role Purpose

  • The jobs in this level are responsible for performing structured assignments requiring analysis and interpretation to identify probable cause and the most promising opportunities for correction. Ensures that applicable GACA rules and approved policies are implemented. Ensures that the contracted maintenance services are provided according to agreements within maintenance budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance & review maintenance and reliability programs associated with equipment manufacturer agreement(s) involving scope of work definitions, event planning and monitoring of time limits for aircraft to ensure the thorough application of reliability programs within the maintenance budget.
  • Review the overall framework of maintenance standards, mandatory and non-mandatory modifications and service bulletins to ensure reliability of fleet monthly basis and prompt compliance with international airworthiness directives. These standards are usually derived from FAA /GACA regulations
  • Ensure that aircraft maintenance is in compliance with regulatory requirements and appropriate reporting occurrence, timely incorporation of all maintenance records and implementation of corrective actions in line with applicable agreements and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor & review the scheduled/unscheduled of maintenance events and their invoices to ensure the timely accomplishment of scheduled maintenance in accordance with defined GACA and comparative international standards and considering maintenance yield to assure cost efficiency.
  • Monitor the entire cycle of maintenance for all aircraft from ground time required, check intervals, scope of work and expected aircraft operation periods to ensure that aircraft are maintained according to the strict standards expected in aircraft reliability programs in accordance with applicable agreements and within maintenance budget.
  • Review all work orders and related invoices on aircraft maintenance to ensure execution in a timely manner and monitor life limits of all part replacements due as defined by the authorities and instructions specified by the manufacturer.
  • Ensure overall maintenance standards to be considered by the execution of maintenance with regard to procedures, instructions, programs, performance indicators and forms to ensure a thorough recording of all maintenance activities for each individual aircraft.
  • Adhere to the maintenance cost performance indicators in accordance with the defined standards in the applicable agreements to ensure consideration during the execution of maintenance.
  • Prepare and consolidates maintenance cost budgets and cost control activities such as benchspaning to ensure industry competitiveness and guarantee cost efficiency.
  • Review invoices for maintenance cost, their release for payment and their orderly accounting to ensure smooth operations.
  • Initiate contract requisition summary (CRS) and follow up the contract amendments.
  • Review the requirements of SAUDIA / Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against contract compliance.
  • Prepare the plan of material and logistic requirement for all maintenance perform by outsource providers.
  • Participate in preparation of overall supply chain strategy and planning implementation.
  • Assess and address the global logistic cost including import/export requirements and how costs impact the bottom line.
  • Monitor the guarantee and warranty claim by supplier and part types feed this information into the vendor selection process.
  • Raise claim against concerned vendors for all cost that result from their components or systems which does not meet performance standard as specified in the applicable contracts in coordination with the concerned department within SAUDIA.
  • Prepare management reports, maintenance contracts, pool and lease agreements to ensure plans are set to achieve unit’s goals.
  • Prepare and publish short/medium term maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate aircraft routing to ensure maximum ground time utilization.
  • Track and Monitor short/medium term maintenance events approaching due time to increase interval usage rate.
  • Participate and communicate with other related divisions for maintenance requirements setup.
  • Monitor & report validity of aircrafts documents and certification.
  • Coordinate with aircraft tail assignment team to react with maintenance constrains to reduce operation disruption.
  • Assist in interpretation and prioritizing maintenance work tasks and ensure each fleet type is maintained as per approved standards
  • Develop and ensure that all types of task cards (MTC/TSV/CCC/JIC) are properly updated and master files are maintained of all related documents with their current revisions.
  • Collect information and data on routine maintenance tasks, information and data on non-routine maintenance tasks, Engineering Orders and Airworthiness Directives and others.
  • Consolidate the collected information into a workload forecast.
  • Monitor the Plan of major/significant modification, inspection as required.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in specific planning fields in order to keep informed and identify opportunities for improvements for the benefit of SAUDIA.
  • Review the work scope of Aircraft heavy maintenance

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Aeronautical / Avionics / Industrial / Technology Engineering / Technical / Instrumentation Technology / Industrial Management / Project Management) or any Engineering related subject.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Airline or OEM Engineering, Airline Technical Services, or Aircraft Maintenance
  • Experience of evaluating Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins, and troubleshooting aircraft systems
  • Aircraft Maintenance License with Aircraft Type Rating (B1 or B2)
  • At least one Aircraft Type Training Course on any of the following fleet aircraft types (A330,A320,B777,B787)
  • E-Enabling (for Avionics)
  • Root cause Analysis
  • Proficient Report Writing & Drafting Skills
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Costing & Budgeting Skills.
