Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Staff for a position in Orlando, FL to be a seasoned traveling problem solver for the Javelin program.

The Supplier Quality Engineering Staff will assist in Failure Review Board (FRB) management, act as the “boots-on-the-ground” eyes and ears of the program, work with suppliers for Root Cause investigations and Corrective Action implementation, and support resolution of supplier caused defects impacting production.

This role will work hand-in-hand with the cognizant program Supplier Quality Engineer for each supplier that manages the normal daily operations of that supplier.
This newly-created position requires extensive travel to suppliers.



What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive corrective actions that leverage input from program cross-functional peers, supply chain counterparts, functional and site quality management personnel and customer representatives
•Integrate seamlessly with all MFC Quality disciplines
•Assess and provide insight into the effectiveness of Quality systems infrastructure at program suppliers
•Represent the QMS organization at key suppliers that are experiencing on-going problems or need follow-up visits
•Provide dynamic, proactive and results-oriented leadership

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
STEM degree at bachelors level or higher from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education

Minimum of 9 years of professional experience, or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters

Ability to travel greater than 50 of the time

Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization to identify and drive systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical methods

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodology

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Must possess effective communications skills and able to structure, prepare, and deliver compelling and clear communications to all levels of the organization

Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations

Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision required

Must have the ability to obtain a favorably-adjudicated SECRET security clearance
Desired Skills:
STEM degree at bachelors level or higher preferred

Experience with energetics, such as explosives, squibs, or solid rocket motors

Experience driving strategies resulting in the strengthening the Quality Management Systems at key suppliers

Experience working with multiple levels of Government customers and stakeholders

Experience with AS9102 (First Article Inspection) methodology / implementation and requirements

An understanding of engineering drawing requirements including GD&T, electrical and mechanical inspection methods

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with Engineering and Technology, Production Operations, Global Supply Chain, Reliability Engineering, and other program stakeholders

Ability to form creative partnerships to improve execution and competitive performance

A basic understanding of the SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems

Experience with source inspection, surveillance activities and special process at suppliers

Experience and able to work complex projects from start to finish

Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with strong skills in AS9100 certification and compliance requirements

Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
