Prime Air is seeking an experienced Systems Development Engineer Responsible for supporting the design and development of test systems for avionics products delivering high quality software packages and test avionics sensors and compute processors. The candidate should have familiarity with hardware, mechanical and electrical design following internal development processes including optimum electronic packaging for test systems.
The candidate should be able to support the build and test of hardware (prototypes, engineering validation hardware, and development verification hardware), generation of bring up test procedures, support of DO-160 environmental test procedures & reports. The candidate may have a relevant Engineering Degree (Mechanical , Electrical , Computer Science etc) with Systems Development experience.


Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
* Supports verification and validation for requirements and system design
* Creates software packages to test avionics hardware, such as creating software to monitor current, sensor inputs, and pass / fail criteria
* Capable of programming in Python, C++
* Experience writing APIs or drivers for test equipment
* Experience creating GUIs in Windows or Linux
* Develops systems engineering artifacts including design documentation, interface control documents, requirements
* Performs subsystem integration work, including testing component level and architectural systems requirements
* Conduct static, dynamic, modal structural and thermal analysis as needed to support of component verification
* Documentation and presentation of materials for technical design reviews.
* Design and support test campaigns, both development and qualification/acceptance, for avionics hardware
* Documentation for test campaigns such as test plans, procedures and test cases

This role will integrate closely with internal partners on the electrical, software teams and flight control teams to develop the best system solutions. This position will require collaboration with various teams across the Prime Air organization.

Job Requirements:
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Creates software packages to test avionics hardware, such as creating software to monitor current, sensor inputs, and pass / fail criteria
- Capable of programming in Python, C++
- Experience writing API's or drivers for test equipment
- Experience creating GUI's in Windows or Linux
- Develops systems engineering artifacts including design documentation, interface control documents, requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic spanets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic spanet up to $202,700/year in our highest geographic spanet. Pay is based on a number of factors including spanet location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
