Job Description SummaryThe Systems Engine Owner will lead and manage the engine test campaign from the systems perspective through all aspects of test planning/preparation for a prototype engine test for a new centerline engine. Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Cost and schedule planning for engine test, including proposals
- Test Plan- Create comprehensive test strategy; type, quantity, hardware
- Test Development- Lead multi-discipline team to develop test points, instrumentation, process and success criteria
- Lead or develop parts list considering test objectives, hardware quality and part life
- Create, review and approve requirement documents to “doing” organizations
- Monitor and influence outside organizations to support test schedule
- Lead reviews defining hardware configuration, instrumentation and detailed test plans
- Onsite test support to ensure test requirements are met and approve test deviations
- Author reports detailing test activities, results and to provide qualification substantiation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

- Established project management skills.
