Raytheon Field Engineering (FE) is seeking a System Engineer Level II for Engineering Technical Support Services for the F-15 Fighter on site at Robins AFB, GA.
What You Will Do
- Provide Reliability and Maintainability engineering services to the F-15 and the US Air Force customer.
- Analyze, investigate, and provide root cause analysis for deficiencies to complex F-15 Airborne Radar and Avionics assemblies maintained by the USAF depot.
- Design, integrate and field improvements to unit and module test program sets to correct test voids between system, unit, module, and component level test.
- Analyze field discrepancy reports and maintenance databases to identify failure trends.
- Must be able to work in a complex interrupt driven environment.
- Must be able to travel occasionally to support F-15 fleet worldwide for USAF.
What You Will Learn
- The engineer will learn to work under Raytheon and USAF processes and with Raytheon and USAF documentation. The engineer must be able to collect, organize, and track hardware while investigating failure trends.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience. Experience in lieu of education can be substituted.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- A minimum of One (1) year of experience in test, investigation and troubleshooting of analog (with emphasis in power supplies), digital, and Radio Frequency (RF) hardware deficiencies down to component level.
- Radar or airborne avionics system, unit and module test and integration experience.
- Experiencing reading, interpreting and understanding technical and engineering documentation, including USAF technical data; OEM assembly drawings, schematics, specifications, processes and procedures.
- Experience with system, unit and module level test hardware/software operation for maintaining Test Program Sets (TPS) to correct test voids and test deficiencies between system, unit, module, and component level requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Knowledge of or previous experience with software development tools such as C-Language/C++/C, JTAG, SQL, ATLAS 416/716, LASAR, TestStand, LABVIEW, LABWINDOWS, VxWorks, MATLAB.
- F-15 Avionics backshop or depot experience.
- Experience in Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) calibration, test, and performance validation.
- Experience working in high-power antenna test facilities.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment on moderate to large complex projects or assignments.
- Comfortable interfacing with senior technical engineers and presenting to upper-level management.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
