As a member of the Advanced Battle Management Consortium (ABMS) consortium, Mission Systems is seeking Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering support for the Phalanx Griffon program. This effort seeks to provide hardware, software, and DevSecOps/integration processes to evolve the capabilities of legacy and future aircraft through battle network connectivity, enhanced on-aircraft mission computing, and ultimately, the infrastructure for enabling real-time software updates so that platforms can rapidly adapt their flight and collaborative mission autonomy tactical behaviors as a mission’s goals, environments, and threats evolve. This technology represents a key thrust in evolving the connected multi-domain battlespace.
What You Will Do
This role would primarily be responsible for Systems Engineering Management, which would include definition of Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs), planning for implementation of and tracking to Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA), Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), and general Open Systems Architecture (OSA) standards and principles. Additionally, the role would involve traditional systems engineering responsibilities including coordination of efforts, performing systems level analyses, participating in design reviews, definition and management of requirements, support of platform certification activities, towards airworthiness and cybersecurity, tracking manpower and personnel support as needed to accomplish plans, production of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and support of systems engineering aspects towards obsolescence management.
This role will be working in cooperation with several other companies, all collaboratively working towards successful developments, integrations, and demonstrations of the Phalanx Griffon technology. A successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and strong interpersonal, as well as the capacity to communicate technically across engineers with a variety of disciplines and breadth/depth of focus. The role is expected to be primarily onsite in a secure facility at the cited location (although some ad hoc flexibility may be available if working on specific unclassified tasking). Further, the role is expected to require TS/SCI clearance on day 1.
Qualifications You Must Have

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government DoD issued TS/SCI security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience with aerospace systems, having performed requirements development, decomposition, and associated integration, verification, and validation processes.
- Familiarity with MOSA, SOSA, and OSA standards and principles.
- Background in risk/opportunity management and in obsolescence engineering.
- Demonstrates the ability to think both tactically and strategically when solving problems and showcases excellent organizational skills and the ability to balancing priorities and schedules.
- Has experience working effectively in highly collaborative environments and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
