What does this internship consists in?

Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (DISCOVER) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.

You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to DISCOVER the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.

The start of the internship will be in early October 2024, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.

Internship Job Description:

We offer a position for a Financial Internship for R&T public funding in Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Getafe site (Spain).

Our department is in charge of the  financial management/administration of R&T projects funded by Spanish and European funding bodies. This is a key role in supporting the Capture Plan for R&T projects in Airbus Commercial and in the preparation of the future.

The main tasks to be developed are:

  • Observe compliance with national/EU funding rules of applications, running projects and claiming processes and cooperation/coordination with R&T management and  external auditors.

  • Follow the monitoring processes of projects subject to contractual terms/obligations with funding bodies. Understand the eligibility of expenses/costs under funding contracts.

  • Understand the cost structure (CBS) by project and funding contract in order to comply with both internal budgets per program and project and also with the claiming processes to funding bodies

  • Contribute to the cash-in / cash out  forecasts and monthly reporting on actual payments. Manage cash processes with Accounts Payable, Treasury and Accounting. 

  • Monitor Revenues (PoC) recognition in P&L for projects in coordination with contract management and accounting and secure the final reconciliation with the cash-in flows per funding contract. Contribute to data analysis for public funding contracts.

  • Preparation of the claiming processes for periodic reports / milestones to the funding bodies in compliance with regulations and the content and timeframe (progress alignment) of the funding contracts, e.g. alignment with accounting/auditors for correct hourly rate application, collection and submission to funding bodies and auditors of evidences on the eligibility of expenses and costs.

  • Ensure correct closing of R&T projects once the project has been finished.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Business Management, Finance or comparable qualifications.

  • Good language skills in Spanish and English.

  • Willingness to understand the financial/contractual impacts of a research project in the context of aerospace technology.

  • Willingness to understand contractual terms and conditions and their compliance with funding rules and obligations.

  • Skills for Google Workspace and MS Office are required.

  • Good communication skills as well as being able to work in teams and with other departments.
