The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Financial Analyst/Project Cost Controller to join our Boeing Defence Australia Finance team. A role consisting of project cost control management and reporting. This position will support our Sustainment Operations Business Unit working collaboratively with programs delivering cutting edge technology to our Australian Defence Force. The role will be based at the RAAF Base Edinburgh in Adelaide. This role offers the opportunity to challenge yourself in a fast-paced environment with plenty of changes that keep the work interesting and the opportunity for exposure to the broader Boeing enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Development of cost forecasts, weekly financial reporting and quarterly Estimate at Completion.
- Month end close including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and forecasting.
- Analysis of Cost performance and recommendations on impacts & actions
- Implementation of Baseline changes into the financial system (Deltek Cobra)
- Variance reporting on Cost and Schedule performance
- Pricing of minor contract change proposals
- Review of financial data with program and leadership stakeholders
- Stakeholder management including liaising with Control Account managers, finance team and Program Leadership
- Mentoring of junior cost analysts in the team
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in finance, business or commerce; or equivalent experience in the workforce
- Relevant experience in a project accounting, management accounting or cost control role
- Experience with cost forecasting, variance reporting and estimates at completion
- Experience managing financial baseline changes
- Experience with Open Plan Professional or Deltek COBRA advantageous
