Job Description:
Purpose of the role
As a leader in a dynamic and challenging industry, the IAG Corporate Finance team is responsible for the
Group’s long-term financial planning, capital structure and financing strategy, including the origination,
negotiation and execution of the Group’s and its Operating Companies’ funding and liquidity position,
and ensuring the optimal capital structure that meet the Group’s financial objectives.
In this dynamic role, the jobholder will provide critical financial analysis that shapes and drives strategic
decision making, manage a range of different funding transactions and act as the Groups point of
contact for external counter-parties.
Accountabilities
Financial Analysis
- Develop best practices within the team in terms of developing and maintaining financial models and
analytical tools to assess funding requirements, financing structures and capital allocation - Produce regular corporate finance reports and update credit rating analysis
- Monitor and provide insight on capital spanet trends, transactions and competitor activities
Financing Transactions
- Assist in the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of proposed financing arrangements, such as aircraft
financing, private placements, and capital spanet instruments - Co-ordinate transaction and post-closing matters internally and externally, such as transaction
information, due diligence, investor presentation, documentation, and funding processes
Stakeholder Relationships
- Act as point of contact for the provision of information as necessary to other Operating Companies, Group
departments, rating agencies, banks and law firms - Work closely with internal teams to understand ongoing fleet and capital expenditure requirements
- Liaise with back office to ensure all financing instruments are properly administrated
Required skills & experience
- Degree or equivalent
- Studying towards a professional finance, accounting or treasury qualification desirable but not essential
- Proven knowledge of financial analysis and corporate finance principles
- Excellent excel and financial modelling skills
- Previous experience in corporate finance, treasury, banking or similar would be an advantage
- Strong awareness of financial spanets and trends in the business environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and to deal and resolve conflicting interests, both internally and with external parties
- Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail
- Motivated self-starter who can work under own initiative
- Excellent team player who enjoys working in an international and multi-cultural environment
- Spanish language skills desirable but not essential
