FLIGHT PARAMEDIC (FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS)
Job Summary
Provides quality pre-hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by CSI within scope of practice; assesses the nature and extent of illness and injury to establish and prioritize care needed for safe transport of the critical patient to the appropriate facility working in collaboration with flight nurse partner; is qualified to provide care for patients across the life-span in assigned clinical area; responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of CSI assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum.
Responsibilities
- Practices within his/her scope as defined by the state regulations and company policies
- Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in
ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
- Maintains currency of required licensure, certifications, and continuing education
- Maintains currency in aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training
- Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all medical equipment
- Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives,
hospitals and the public
- Participates in departmental quality improvement, SMS, and utilization management activities as assigned
- Attends and participates in meetings according to established departmental
- guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of current field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital system
- Licenses and Certifications:
- EMT-P certification in state(s) served
- National Registry Certification
- Current certifications in BLS: ACLS; PALS or equivalent (AHA courses required)
- Current certification in one of the following TNCC/ITLS/PHTLS (advanced skills lab must accompany these trauma courses)
- Physical:
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40lbs. without assistance for 30 meters.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 250lbs. to chest height as part of a three-person team (250lbs. shared between 3 people).
- Must weigh less than 250lbs. in street clothes.
- Must display a full, unrestricted range of motion in all limbs, joints, neck, back and waist.
- Required after hire to remain employed with CSI:
- Advanced Trauma course within 6 months of hire (ATLS; ATCN; CATN; TPATC)
- NIMS Training is 100, 200, 700, 800 within 3 months hire
- Specialty certification: FP-C or CCPT within 2 years of hire
- NRP Certification

- Previous flight experience
