Wire and assemble aircraft cabinets and associated components/wire switch panels and various aircraft overhead and cabinet panels. Troubleshoot and repair as needed using common hand tools, electrical tools, and test instruments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
Route and shape wires for harness build up.
Utilize standard wire binding devices in harness fabrication and installation.
Perform pin-to-pin continuity/power checks on ac and dc systems using volt/ohm meters to achieve fault isolation and repair.
Perform harness manufacturing, installation, and termination in accordance with specified data and standards.
Solder electrical components in accordance with DFJC standards.
Install avionics ac and dc audio and video components and related systems in aircraft cabinets and insures correct operation.
Wire aircraft water systems and insures proper operation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Practice proper electronic maintenance protocols.
Complete tasks within assigned time limits.
Complete tasks under the direction and guidance of supervision as assigned.
Determine work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules
and plans accordingly.
Accurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance tracking.
May assist, lead, or train other personnel on specific job assignments as directed by
supervision.
Works in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
Performs troubleshooting, testing, and repairs of avionics systems and components.
Works warranty items, repair and return to service.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements High school diploma or GED
Able to use all hand tools, electrical crimping tools, and soldering tools.
Must have minimum of two (2) years experience in the use of volt/ohm meters and other test instruments.
Must have minimum of three (3) years avionics/electrical experience or equivalent education.
Able to define wire colors and have hand/eye coordination to perform job as required.
Able to interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams, blue prints, charts, and schematics.
Able to demonstrate soldering skills in compliance with inspection procedures manual, parts manufacturing quality control manual, and applicable FED standards
Able to work in a confined space.
Able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Must have visual capacity and muscular dexterity to secure harnesses with clamps and other devices and to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework .
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Aircraft electrical/avionics experience.
Degree in Engineering Electronics Technology or Electronics Technology.
FCC license.
Ability to solve practical problems when needed.
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
