Job Description:
- Manufacturing and fabricating cabinets from raw materials on aircraft including wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal, and veneers
- Construct interior components to the customer’s specifications
- Fabricates, fits, trims, and installs interior components, galleys, bulkheads, doors, side ledges, tray, and conference tables
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Inspect and inventory incoming cabinetry for existing damage
- Protect and tag all items using proper interior nomenclature for part identification
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals to complete all work
- Completes all associated paperwork thoroughly and accurately for all work accomplished
- Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments
- Seeks methods to cross-train to develop technical skills and business knowledge
- Assist aircraft technicians when necessary
- Ensure functional tests of all installed items are satisfactory
- Performs other duties as required
- Assist engineering staff and draftsmen in generating drawings and renderings
- Work with DER’s to provide structural data when necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school or GED
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in aviation cabinetmaking and fabrication preferred
- Woodworking or wood finishing experience in a technical environment
- Cabinet installation experience including fit and trim preferred
- Requires excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Clean driving record, ability to pass a background check, and achieve airport SIDA badge
