Soft Goods and Seats Technician

Job Description:
- Perform inspections, handling, cutting, and post-processing procedures of soft good materials used in the upholstery and assembly of seats in accordance with process specifications.
- Operate and help maintain soft goods machines (skiver, splitter, digital CNC cutter, and digital inspection machine).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect incoming soft goods, including leather and synthetic materials prior to production.
- Perform routine maintenance of machines used in material processing (skiver, splitter, CNC machine, and digital inspection machine)
- Help maintain and organize the leather inventory.
- Post-processing of cut leather, including skiving and splitting parts for production.
- Process other soft goods such as foam, scrim backing, and mesh used in production.
- Work within the ERP/MRP system to maintain labor tracking and Job Card/Task sign-offs.
- Use cutting and Product Data Management (PDM) software for production.
- Use safety equipment and comply with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with management and team leads to fulfill customer delivery dates.
- Assist in keeping the soft goods area of the shop organized and clean.
- Work with Leads and higher-skilled technicians to develop and refine skills and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work area.
- Assist coworkers and other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Lead or Manager.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three (3) years related experience or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
- Ability to use leather skiver and splitter
- Previous experience working with digital CNC cutting machines helpful (specifically Zund cutters)
- Experience with MindCUT and PDM software helpful
- A basic understanding of manufacturing methods and machine programming preferred
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings is desired
- Ability to move and carry full hides of leather and up to 60lbs boxes required
- Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime as required
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
- Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.15
- Must be willing to work any shift including unscheduled overtime, nonscheduled work days, and holidays as needed
- MUST be able to pass a 10-year federal background check in order to obtain an airport security badge.
