Core Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules work and sets up equipment, using a variety of precision measuring devices and machine attachments and fixtures.
- Grinds tools and dies to prescribed dimensions by adjusting controls to feed work against grinders.
- Computes dimensions, widths, and angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges, and adjusts tools to produce specified cuts.
- Removes, dresses, and installs grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements as instructed by the manufacturer, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills:
- Must be very organized and thorough, following all procedures for quality and safety.
- Must be able to work independently as well as being part of the team.
- Must be able to manage time well to meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Inspection experience and able to use precision measuring devices for overall quality.
- Knowledge of proper Health and Safety measures.
- Desire to learn and grow within the company.
- Flexible with shift work.
Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work 2nd shift (2PM-10:30PM)
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ Years Experience in Grinding
- Journeyman Certification a Plus
- Experience on Amada Profile Grinding machines a Plus
