Job Summary:
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and installing parts and assemblies according to quality requirements, ensuring the smooth flow of product throughout the manufacturing process. The individual will support the team by performing both manual and automated assembly operations, troubleshooting issues, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all processes are followed in accordance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, and work orders to assemble and install parts and assemblies to meet quality standards.
• Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate assembly progression.
• Set up and perform all manual and automated assembly operations, and portable machine functions as needed.
• Perform any necessary pickup, rework, fabrication, or changes during or after final assembly.
• Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies required for tasks.
• Use precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.
• Report and investigate job issues such as errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
• Perform routine minor machine maintenance, including replacing filters, changing light bulbs, and maintaining lubrication/coolant levels.
• Move products within the manufacturing work area using shop-assigned equipment and complete transactions to move product to the next operation.
• Support continuous product flow by training, coaching, and assisting employees at all levels.
• Document discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
• Cross-train in inspection duties and become SIA qualified.
Additional Duties:
• Perform other duties as assigned by Client leadership. Training and certification will be provided for any additional responsibilities when required.
Qualifications:
• Willingness to learn and perform necessary training for all job functions.
• Ability to work with blueprints and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support team members.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine machine maintenance.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to move products and materials as required.
• Perform tasks that may involve light to moderate lifting and movement of components.
Education: Bachelors Degree
