Responsibilities
The Buyer II, Repair is responsible for managing relationships with our business partners for unserviceable parts, working closely with Stores and other internal workgroups to ensure proper processes are followed. This position requires attention to detail, great communication skills and adaptability.
- Selecting repair vendors from approved vendor list for all component repairs utilizing current data reflective of vendor capabilities, TAT, and cost.
- Part and Aircraft Warranty tracking and reporting.
- Work along with other departments to resolve discrepancies with part certifications, invoicing, warranty claims, and other issues dealing with repair orders.
- Maintain a good business relationship and periodically meet with vendor reps to discuss repair capabilities, current issues and negotiate costs and TAT.
- Expedite return of loans/borrows and exchange cores to respective vendors to minimize company costs.
- Transportation/Logistics Management.
- Request for Price contract management.
- Work along with Repair Manager for most Repair RFPs.
- Work with Repair Manager on all special projects requested by Sr. Manager - Supply Chain.
- Work with Repair Manager on gathering information for Supplier Score Cards.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of aviation experience required.
- Entails work in an office setting as well as exposure to a warehouse environment to review parts.
- Must be physically able to bend, kneel, and lift upwards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
- Trax experience preferred.
- Domestic & International travel under 10 of time.
