Position Summary:
As a buyer, you are responsible for coordinating all activities associated with raw material procurement and other commodities as assigned. This includes price negotiation, MRP management, on-time delivery, and other necessary purchasing activities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Release purchase orders according to MRP demand.
- Action MRP exception messages regularly to ensure PO’s are delivered on time.
- Responsible for supplier inventory tracking.
- Incorporate inventory management policies into decision making.
- Maintain strong positive relationships with suppliers.
- Assist Accounting in clearing invoice discrepancies.
- Minimize purchase price variances to standard cost.
- Discrepant Material: Manage RTVs and participate in MRB for material disposition for any vendor related rejections.
- Provide value added services by striving to find new sources of supply and better ways of meeting the needs of the internal customers.
- Assist internal customers with locating alternate/substitute materials in cases of emergencies, material shortages or other external/internal circumstances.
- Expediting, when requested and warranted, the delivery of goods and services.
- Maintaining the vendor master and commodity list as required.
- Follow all Purchasing policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with corporate procurement on special projects.
- Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods.
Skills & Experience:
- Commodity experience: raw metal material, machining, & outside processing.
- Minimum 5 years of aerospace experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- ERP Systems experience required; Syteline ERP experience a plus.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite w/advanced Excel skills.
Level of Education & Qualifications:
- 4-year College Degree or equivalent experience.
- Certification in Purchasing: CPP/Certified Purchasing Professional certificate; CGPP/Certified Green Purchasing Professional.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $93,900 to $120,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.25X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
