Primary Purpose of the Job
Responsible to provide production with accurate and efficient takeoffs and programs for standard fabrication of aluminum extrusions for doors and frames. Understanding of proficiency gained in take-off application for CNC machine programming support for fabrication in Kawneer’s Bloomsburg manufacturing plant, Service Centers and CNother locations as required.
Responsibilities
- Works interactively with all Takeoff Technicians, Programmers, Fabrication Supervisors, and CNC Machine Operators to provide accurate & efficient programs for standard fabrication of aluminum extrusions for doors and frames.
- Ability to independently flex between hardware compatibility check/layout, takeoff, & programming all depending upon workload and current demands.
- Ability to communicate with customers on a professional level to obtain information to complete the job in a timely fashion.
- Layout of hardware in AutoCAD or other CNC programs.
- Order Management
- Verify material requirements for complete order
- Reading of project specific job shop and installation instructions
- Complete shop orders (KaluCAD takeoff) efficiently and accurately.
- Review hardware schedules for compatibility of hardware and to ensure hardware fits on specified product
- Release to manufacturing verified amounts of manufactured products and quantities, and vendor supplied products and quantities.
- Create new basic CNC programs for fabrication lines
- Maintain and update existing basic CNC programs for fabrication lines
- Update existing basic CNC programs per all Engineering Changes.
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
- Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office)
- Excellent organization skills
- The ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Basis or Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of work experience in manufacturing environment working directly with CNC milling programming and machine operation.
- 2 Years Manufacturing Experience or Associate Degree in Building/Construction or Architectural Technology with a particularly high concentration with math, technology, or general education.
- Strong experience with aluminum door and frame fabrication including custom hardware applications.
- Certificate Program including coursework in metal machining processes.
- AutoCAD or other 2D/3D Drafting Programs
