The Electrical Fabrication and Assembly group at Northrop Grumman Oceanic Systems is seeking a dependable Development Electronics Technician to support our Undersea Systems business portfolio at the Annapolis, MD campus. In Annapolis, we develop and manufacture advanced underwater systems, sensors, and vehicles designed to excel in volatile and ever-changing undersea environments.
The Development Electronics Technician will assemble and wire deliverable electronic assemblies, transducers, cables, encapsulated units, etc. from engineering models. They will also prepare, record, and monitor processes.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The Technician will plan and execute the layout and arrangement of wires, the routing of cables, assembly of electrical and mechanical parts, and related operations necessary to complete deliverable units or engineering models to meet schedule and cost objectives. They will conduct in-process testing using multi-meters, impedance bridges and oscilloscopes; troubleshoot circuits as needed; and assist during failure analysis.
The selected person must be able to complete and maintain required skill certifications, work with documentation ranging from formal systems documentation to verbal engineering guidance, be able to read drawings and understand the operation of basic test equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience conducting hands-on mechanical and/or electrical fabrication and assembly work in accordance with drawings, manufacturing plans, or equivalent.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience potting electronic assemblies for use in a wet environment.
- Qualification and experience with common industry standard practices, such as FOD, ESD, Electrical Safety, and basic solder is preferred.
- Current Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance.
Salary Range: $46,821 - $108,859
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
