As an Electro-Optical Materials Scientist at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world’s most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing
As a Electro-Optical Materials Scientist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Lead projects to identify, synthesize, characterize, and apply new game-changing materials to a variety of novel HPEM applications.
-Lead geographically diverse teams in solving loosely defined and inherently unstructured problems.
-Guiding the execution of project workflows including material synthesis, characterization, integration, modeling, and simulation.
-Demonstrating expertise with materials synthesis and characterization of dielectrics
-Understanding of electromagnetic theory and electronic material properties
-Expertise in electronic/optical/dielectric/semiconducting materials and their characterizations for integration into RF devices.
-Sharing knowledge and experience through coaching of early career engineers and university research partners.
It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).

Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. Basic Qualifications:
• PhD in in Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering or closely related fields
• Demonstrated strong Project Management Skills throughout project lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical concepts and solutions into clear, concise communication.
• Experience synthesizing and characterizing semiconducting, dielectric/insulating, optoelectronic materials.
Desired Skills:
• Modeling and Simulation of bulk material electrical properties
• Familiarity with RF Circuitry

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
