As an Entry Level Toolmaker, you will play a crucial role in the production process by operating shop equipment, performing composite lay-ups, and assisting in the fabrication of tools and components. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate shop equipment including band saw, chop saw, and welding machines according to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Perform composite lay-ups (wet layups) to fabricate composite materials for tooling and components.
Assist in the fabrication and assembly of tooling, molds, and fixtures under the guidance of experienced toolmakers.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in toolmaking and composite fabrication techniques.
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and quality standards.
Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or vocational training is a plus.
Previous experience operating shop equipment such as band saw, chop saw, and welding machines preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
Basic understanding of mechanical principles and ability to use hand tools effectively.
Familiarity with composite lay-up processes is a plus, but training will be provided.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Commitment to safety and willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed.
