POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Expeditor coordinates the interface between logistics functions such as procurement, transportation, and warehousing to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective support to the internal customer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes reports on a daily basis showing inbound parts that are AOG, Critical, on Back order, and Routine.
- Ensures that AOG’s, Critical, Back Orders and Routines are processed by receiving in that order. Once Receiving has completed process, hand carry to Shipping to process, package and ship as directed.
- Ensures Shipping completes this task in a timely manner.
- Notifies internal customers when AOG’s ship and will follow up by phone 30 minutes after scheduled arrival, when necessary to advice on delay or any necessary information regarding orders.
- Communicates and follows up with co-workers, or appropriate internal department to resolve issues concerning parts
- Coordinates logistics of incoming materials/equipment.
- Maintains inventory of materials ordered, status and receipt.
- Tracks and monitors priority requests, verify packing lists and other documentation involving materials received from suppliers for delivery to customers at various sites.
- Handles issues regarding critical material flow activities.
- Reviews orders and controls any backorders.
- Works closely with co-workers to determine TAT (turnaround time) and communicate this to internal customer.
- Provides feedback to his/her superior on any customer concerns not able to be addressed.
- Follows up with co-workers in other units regarding any issues of quantities, technical specifications, aircraft model/type, serial numbers, customer code, delivery deadline/urgency, stock availability, price, etc.
- Analyzes clients’ order requests, special projects & produce reports and follows-up / controls.
- Carries out production orders workflow to enable rework, engineering changes, design change, re-identification, or any other demand; in regards to paper work closure and material payment.
- Analyze SAP and MES material related issues to assist with work order closure
- Coordinate with ME’s, Planners and QA personnel for aircraft delivery.
- Learn complex procedures and perform transactions for aircraft parts re-identification and rework processes.Coordinate with Finance to correct pricing table errors in SAP for re-identification process.
- Coordinate with Brazilian subject matter experts to document and perform functions not previously performed by EDSI personnel.
- Suggests improvements in process and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
Experience:
- Associate Level Service, Production or Support Worker role well experienced in all facets of area of responsibility in parts, warranty parts and repair customer services activities.
- Generally at least 1 year of experience in area of responsibility in administrative and operational tasks related to material expedition or related setting.
- Experience in loading/unloading, handling, checking, transportation, storage and distribution of spare parts, tools, and other materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Organized and detailed oriented.
- General knowledge of Inco-terms and import / export formalities.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Intermediate negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access), Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, SAP, MES.
- Assignments require thorough knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities.
- Skills are effectively applied in accomplishing all tasks.
- Familiar with aircraft knowledge.
- Demonstrate negotiation techniques, and customer services techniques,
Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching, carrying, pushing, and pulling is essential for this job.
