Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Monitor, manage, and reconcile inventory levels across company and customer-owned stock.
  • Identify, catalogue, and coordinate the sale or return of slow-moving, obsolete, or excess material.
  • Support shipping and logistics processes to ensure timely and compliant dispatch of materials to customers, vendors, or repair facilities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP/MRP system, ensuring traceability and compliance with aviation regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, MAA).
  • Liaise with sales, procurement, and operations to maximise utilisation of existing inventory before new purchases.
  • Coordinate consignment, exchange, and scrap programs in alignment with commercial and operational goals.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of stock data.
  • Analyse usage trends to recommend stocking strategies and improve inventory turnover.
  • Provide reporting on inventory health, usage, and sales performance to management.
  • Ensure all materials meet certification, documentation, and export compliance requirements.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to drive continuous improvement in inventory management practices.

 

This is not an exhaustive list and from time-to-time additional responsibilities may be provided directly from your Line Manager to meet the spirit and intent of the role.

 

Required skills

  • Proven experience in inventory control, supply chain, or materials management, ideally within an aviation MRO environment.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft parts certification and traceability (e.g., FAA 8130-3, EASA Form 1).
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of logistics, shipping documentation, and export compliance.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

 

Desirable Training and Experience

  • CIPS Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics.

  • Experience with aviation industry ERP systems (e.g., Quantum, AMOS, SAP).

  • Familiarity with civil or military aviation regulations (CAA, FAA, EASA, MAA).

  • Project Management Training or Experience.

     

Organisational Relationships:

  • Works closely with: Material Planners, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Logistics.
  • Role sits within Supply Chain team – Engines and reports to Warehouse Team Leader.
