Job Description:
We are partners with an aircraft manufacturer looking for a Logistics Coordinator. They are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to lead their logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning, material purchasing, and procurement complemented by exceptional people skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will effectively manage the logistics processes and drive operational excellence. As a vital team member, the Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of supply-chain logistics, inventory control, and production planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day supply and logistics activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organization's supply chain.
- Coordinate and direct materials planning and control, procurement, inventory management, storage, warehousing, logistics, transport, and distribution.
- Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet company needs.
- Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory to ensure a cost-effective flow of activities
- Develop and implement schedules and procedures
- Allocate resources to meet targets in areas such as transit and delivery times; inventory levels; purchasing, and warehousing.
- Liaise with functional and operations area managers to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business.
- Responsible for inventory control program including high parts count, and process flow covering the end-to-end supply chain solution
- Optimize warehouse functions
- Actively involved in data capturing and audit programs, physical inventory, cycle counting, delivery and non-conformance material flow process
- Drive supply chain initiatives between sales and operations
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills
- Logistics management experience required (Aviation preferred)
- Required knowledge of CMS software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with department managers and senior leadership.
- Experience managing inventories in excess of 500 individual parts numbers
