*Location: Solon, OH
*Contract Duration: Contract to Hire Position Responsibilities
*The MRO Services Machinist will report to the MRO Services Manager. The Machinist will be responsible for fabricating tooling, repairing materials, and fixtures, and generating their corresponding drawings. The Machinist will also operate the vertical mill, lathe, and CNC. This position requires the use of precision measuring tooling such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and DRO. This position requires the Machinist to display a professional demeanor and create a work environment that fosters mutual respect between co-workers, customers, and vendors. This challenging position requires the Machinist to be a team player, working across various departments while accomplishing tasks with minimal supervision and a strong sense of focus on details, quality, and safety.
*Ensure that all work is done in a safe and professional manner, and in accordance with approved or acceptable technical data and work practices. The data will include the manufacturer& 39;s maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, Codes of Federal Regulation, Type Certificate Data Sheets, Airworthiness Directives, any other approved Federal Aviation Administration data, and other approved technical data for use by the Repair Station.
*Comply with current Federal Aviation Regulations, as well as Repair Station and Quality Control Manual Policies and Procedures.
*Ensure that all necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders used by the Repair Station are properly executed.
*Ensure work area cleanliness and good housekeeping to promote a safe operation.
*Ensure that proper tooling and equipment is utilized, calibrated, and in good working order for the maintenance task being accomplished.
*Ensure that the repair and overhaul of all articles and components is accomplished within the authority of the Repair Station and that the work is inspected by the inspection department.
*Ensure the proper handling and tagging of all parts while in the repair process and through work completion.
*Ensure incoming parts, supplies, and articles receive an incoming inspection (Receiving Inspection) to determine airworthiness prior to use for a repair or modification.
*Ensure no defective, non-conformed, or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or assembly.
*Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.
*Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
*Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
*Select the appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
*Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete for a given task.
*Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
*Identifies the need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs. Additional Duties/Information
*Experience with Vertical Mill, Lathe, and CNC Mill.
*Experience with Welding and metal fabrication.
*Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
*Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
*Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
*Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
*Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
*Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
*Interdepartmental coordination.
*Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
*Work with others in a professional manner.
*Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets. Basic Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience)
*2 years experience in a machine shop, or Part 145 Repair Station.
*High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required.
*A Technical Degree is preferred.
*Proficient in reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments.
*A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
*Will consider either CNC or manual machinist experience. Physical Requirements
*Lifts 70 lbs.
*Routine walking, bending, and squatting or sitting.
*Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
*Work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft. in the air) using fall protection safety gear
*Standing or sitting for long periods of time while performing repairs. Additional Information
*May be required to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs
