Position Summary
Responsible for moving raw materials and work in progress (WIP) throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Moves raw materials and work in process (WIP) throughout the facility using various types of powered industrial vehicles and crane systems.
- Reviews production schedules/boards to ensure product delivered to machines on time. Collects/distributes Kanban cards to the production boards.
- Verifies product / quantity and ensures parts and materials are stored safely in the proper location.
- Completes various types of paperwork related to inspection and production reporting.
- Cleans out metal tubs for reuse.
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks.
- Assists with making crates, skids, boxes, and prepares products for shipment.
- Understands and facilitate Kanban inventory system accuracy.
- Performs the required duties in accordance safety guidelines and lean principles.
- Cleans equipment and work area to 5S Lean principles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous forklift, tugger and over-head crane experience preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and organize work/priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Closing Statement
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. Employee will occasionally be required to kneel, squat and bend at the waist. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
